On 11 March 2025, IBA Japan had the pleasure of welcoming Hiroshi Komori, Board Member of the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB), for an engaging discussion on the ISSB standards and their evolving role in global sustainability disclosure.
Komori-san provided valuable insights into the progress of IFRS S1 and S2, the ISSB’s Two-Year Work Plan, and key developments in biodiversity and human capital reporting. He also highlighted the growing momentum behind sustainability-related financial disclosures, noting that 35 jurisdictions have already taken steps toward adopting ISSB standards, reinforcing the movement toward a globally consistent reporting framework.
