Summary:
Clifford Chance Tokyo is pleased to partner with IBA Japan to present on AI and developing risks and regulations. Lawyers from our Tech Group will speak about legal issues relating to commercial use of AI from a legal perspective.
This presentation will cover:
- Developing AI regulations around the world – including Continental European and UK regulations on the different approaches being taken.
- Developing regulations and approaches to AI in Japan
- Challenges to the protection of IP created by use of AI.
- Challenges with data governance and compliance with existing data privacy laws when using AI
- Potential strategies to address these risks i.e. creating AI policies/strategies, focusing on transparency and creating internal structures focused on use of AI oversee use of AI etc
- AI and political risks
- Legal disputes that may arise as a result of increased use of AI in the commercial world

- Michihiro Nishi a Japanese qualified Partner in Clifford Chance's Tokyo office who has extensive experience advising clients in the technology sector on wide range of issues from M&A to contentious regulatory actions and legal proceedings
- Sian Smith, a Senior Associate at Clifford Chance Tokyo who specialises exclusively on technology related matters including in relation to IP protection, data privacy and regulatory compliance
