With 12 months to go until the 2024 US election, the outcome of the race could have profound implications for Japan and the geopolitical and economic order. Joe Biden and Donald Trump, the leading presidential contenders are locked in a “dead heat” in national polling.

As both Japan and Europe face their most challenging security environment since the 1940s and with globalization slowing, the outcome of next year’s US election will be one of the most important geopolitical events of next year.

This presentation will:

• Explore the mood of the US electorate and key voter issues
• Highlight key policy issues, for Japan and Japanese businesses
• Illustrate several election scenarios and signposts to watch in the year ahead

Kyle advises c-suite leaders and directors on strategic challenges related to geopolitics, climate and public policy. He has held a range of roles across the EY network including in government relations, political risk and M&A advisory.

Randy Capocasale, Senior Manager, EY-Parthenon

Randy is an experienced strategy consultant focused on bridging Japan with global markets and consumers. Randy is a former strategic planner from the defense industry. Randy holds an MBA from MIT Sloan and is a guest lecturer at Hitotsubashi University.
