Introduction of IBA Japan's New Asset Management Sector
IBA Japan is pleased to announce the launch of our new Asset Management Sector, set to begin in October 2024. This sector is designed to support foreign Asset Management firms operating in Japan and will complement our existing Banking and Securities Sectors.
The Asset Management Sector will provide a focused platform for addressing the unique challenges faced by Asset Managers. It aims to enhance regulatory engagement, allowing members to address concerns and influence regulatory developments more effectively. The sector will also facilitate improved communication within the industry, offering a structured environment for sharing insights and best practices among asset management professionals. Additionally, members will benefit from access to IBA Japan’s extensive network and events.
The sector will be integrated into IBA Japan's existing governance framework, with a new Senior Manager joining the Secretariat assigned to focus specifically on Asset Management issues. This approach will ensure that asset management concerns are addressed within the broader context of our financial services organisation.
The official launch is set for October 2024, and preparations are already underway for a seamless integration. Several leading international asset management firms have confirmed their intention to join, demonstrating strong support for this initiative.
We at IBA Japan look forward to applying our many years of formal and professional advocacy experience for our new Asset Management members and platforms for discussing industry-specific issues.
