With 12 months to go until the 2024 US election, the outcome of the race could have profound implications for Japan and the geopolitical and economic order. Joe Biden and Donald Trump, the leading presidential contenders are locked in a “dead heat” in national polling.

As both Japan and Europe face their most challenging security environment since the 1940s and with globalization slowing, the outcome of next year’s US election will be one of the most important geopolitical events of next year.

This presentation will:

  • Provide an overview of the current geopolitical environment
  • Explore the mood of the US electorate and key voter issues
  • Highlight key policy issues, for Japan and Japanese businesses
  • Illustrate several election scenarios and signposts to watch in the year ahead

This seminar, presented by EY-Parthenon, will provide participants with a frame of reference and structure to monitor the race in the year ahead and discuss how to build geopolitical risk resilience
