Three local experts from PwC provided a broad introduction to shared services and outsourcing in the financial services sector, with a Japan perspective focus. The discussion outlined the key drivers for change and provided insights and shared experiences on some of the practical challenges with offshoring and outsourcing, including how to manage the regulatory expectations, the increased operational risk and the change management requirements.

Special Address by Bank of Japan Governor Kuroda to IBA Japan members

Mr Haruhiko Kuroda, Governor of the Bank of Japan, gave a lunchtime speech to the International Bankers Association of Japan on 29 September. The BoJ’s recent initiatives have been a major policy plank of the revitalisation of the Japanese economy and we are pleased that the Governor shared his thoughts with the foreign banking community during our 30th anniversary year.
